MANISA. After witnessing the worst agricultural frost in thirty years, damage assessments are still ongoing. Estimates stand at TRY 21 billion with grapes worst affected. Farmers are still holding back sultanas.

Frost damage of TRY 21 billion

After a cool and rainy week, the Turkish meteorological institute has forecasted increasing temperatures with a lot of sun for this week. Night temperatures are expected to be 17-20C (63-68F) and day temperatures 32-37C (90-99F) this week. In addition, Eid al-Adha the Festival of Sacrifice will start on Friday and be celebrated until 9 June. Many companies have either already closed since Friday or will close on Wednesday at the latest.
