First warm, then frosty again

The growing areas in the Turkish province of Manisa are facing extreme temperature fluctuations. After the past frosty weekend, the Turkish weather service is forecasting a rise in temperature to up to 22°C in the coming days, which could lead to the vines waking up from their winter dormancy. According to the latest information, however, it is set to cool down significantly again in mid-March, with snow and frost not ruled out. This harbours high risks for yields and market players are watching developments with concern.
