MANISA. Hail is the only risk for sultanas in Turkey at present. Exports have not yet reached 100,000 mt.

No risks anticipated

According to official forecasts temperatures will range at 9-11C (48-52C) at night and at 17-25C (63-77F) at day with some rain in Manisa this week. Occasional rain has not yet had any negative impact on the vineyards. The only risk is hail, which only occurs in small areas.

As air temperatures are no longer expected to drop in the near term, the concerns voiced in April are no longer valid. If everything proceeds as expected, the crop should be good. Prices may drop again as of next week. Raw material prices are firm at TRY 90/kg for ty
