SOFIA/KIEV. Quite unlike last year, the prospects for sunflower seeds are still highly encouraging in many producing countries. Market players in Bulgaria are reckoning with lower prices at the turn of the season. China is shipping large volumes into the EU.

Crop developing well in Bulgaria

Sunflower seed traders in Bulgaria report that the plants are developing well and are in excellent condition. Favourable weather conditions prevail. There is, however, some concern that there will not be enough rain in the next few weeks.
