Sunflower seeds: decision still pending

SOFIA/KYIV. Market players are still waiting for a decision by the EU on whether the import ban on certain agricultural goods from Ukraine will be extended. Traders expect this to have a high impact on price developments. Meanwhile, the EU production estimate was adjusted once again.

Crop corrections too optimistic?

Once again the European Commission has made a downward correction to the production estimates for the EU sunflower seed crop from 10.608 million mt to 10.533 million mt, even though these figures are still significantly more optimistic than the reports of market players. After all, this would still be an increase of 15% over the previous year.
