Sunflower seeds: Germany increases imports by 80%

SOFIA/KYIV. The harvest in Ukraine is almost complete and can meet the set target. Meanwhile, prices have stalled, while Germany's imports increased significantly year-on-year.

10 million mt in Ukraine

The analysts of the Ukrainian Grain Association raised their forecast for the Ukrainian grain and oilseed crop from previously 64.5 million mt to 67.5 million mt. The reason for this was, among other things, the yields per hectare, which were better than expected on average. For the coming crop year, experts consider a potential of 53.2 million mt, depending on how sowing in spring and yields in summer/autumn 2023 turn out.
