Sunflower seeds: Kazakh experts are against further export restrictions

SOFIA/KYIV. Sowing is underway in Ukraine and the first fields have already been sown with sunflowers. Trade with shelled sunflower seeds has slowed down and the Kazakh Grain Union is explicitly against further export restrictions.

Trade in shelled sunflower seeds has meanwhile slowed down further. Bulgarian traders' offers for bakery kernels are the same as last week at EUR 1.58-1.65/kg FCA Bulgaria, for raw material shipments from Ukraine traders quote prices of about USD 820/mt.

In the regions of Ukraine where farmers are able to work, sowing for the 2022 crop is progressing. 108,100 ha had been sown with sunflower seeds by the end of last week, about 1.7% of the planned acreage, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture. The Ukrainian
