SOFIA/KYIV. Ukrainian farmers' associations complain about the hurdles created by the preventive measures in the export of domestic agricultural products. Losses are also said to be high.

Preventive measures to expire soon

The preventive measures to protect the markets in the EU states bordering Ukraine will expire in just over a week. So far, there are no plans to extend them, even though the agriculture ministers of the affected EU countries had demanded this in a joint letter. At the same time, the Ukrainian oil and fat industry association, Ukroliyaprom, had suggested the imposition of export duties on the export of sunflower seeds from Ukraine.
