SOFIA/KYIV. Officials now confirm a significant deficit for Moldova's 2022 sunflower seed crop. Meanwhile, markets remain quiet.

Moldova harvests 621,600 mt

Moldova's Statistics Service recently announced that domestic agricultural production declined by almost 30% from 2021 to 2022 - with crop cultivation reduced by 36.9% and agricultural livestock by 2.6%. Wheat and corn crops each declined by 46% to 851,100 mt and 75% to 705,000 mt respectively, while sunflower seed production also fell by 35% year-on-year to 621,600 mt.
