USDA Report on Soybean Production, Global Trade and Last Stock

Washington: The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has projected the soybean output to reach 34.84 million tonnes in the entire world in the latest report of September for the year 2017-18, compared to 34.73 million tonnes in August. For the next season the USDA has reduced the average price of soybean to $9.20 per bushel from $0.10 this month. While for the 2016-17 season it has kept it $9.50 per bushel.

During the year 2017-18, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has said that in the new season, the production estimates of August from 11.92 million tonnes in the month of August are expected to reach 12.05 million tonnes in September. Brazil has estimated 10.70 million tonnes, Argentina is estimated to produce 5.70 million tonnes of soybeans. However, in the year 2016-17, there is a possibility of 11.72 million tonnes in the US, 11.14 million tonnes in Brazil and 5.78 million tonnes of soybean in Argentina.

The USDA says that in 2017-18, China can import 9.50 million tonnes of soybean. This import estimate was 9.40 million tonnes in the month of August. It is expected to be 9.20 million tonnes in 2016-17. China imported 8.32 million tonnes of soybean in 2015-16.

In its report, the USDA has maintained Brazilian soybean exports in the year 2017-18, in August also maintained 6.40 million tonnes. Brazil's soybean exports are expected to be 6.25 million tonnes in 2016-17. Soybean exports in the United States of 2016-17 could be 5.90 million tonnes. But in the year 2017-18, the US soybean export estimate was increased from 6.05 million tonnes in August to 6.12 million tonnes. Similarly, Argentina's soybean exports in the year 2017-18 has been estimated to be 8 million tons of the previous month, which is expected to be 6.5 million tonnes in 2016-17.

In the September month report of the US Department of Agriculture, the Soybean production in India is estimated to be 10 million tonnes in 2017-18. However, in the year 2015-16, 6.929 million tonnes and 1.15 million tonnes of production in the year 2016-17. In the entire world, the final stock of soybean is estimated to be 9.75 million tonnes in the year 2017-18 below 9.77 million tonnes in August. It is estimated to be 9.59 million tones in 2016-17. The final stock of soybean in the year 2015-16 is 7.77 million tonnes.

So far 7.8 million tonnes of soybean crushing: SOPA

Indore During the first 11 months of the current oil year October 2016 to September 2017, October to August, 7.8 million tonnes of soybean has been crushing. This information was given by Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA). Sopa has estimated the crushing of soybean to 8.350 million tonnes for the current oil year, while reducing the export estimates of soymeal to 1.8 million tonnes.

According to SOPAa, 0.7 milliion tonnes in October, 0.8 million tonnes in November, 0.950 million tonnes in December, 0.9 million tonnes in January, 0.75 million tonnes in February, 0.75 million tonnes in March, 0.625 million tonnes in April, 0.550 million in May, in June 0550 million tonnes, in July 0.5 million tonnes and in August it has been crushing 0.6 million lakh tonnes of soybean. This year, 11.491 million tonnes of soybean was produced in the country and carry forward stock was 0.441 million tonnes. Thus, the total availability of soybean for the current oilseed year will be 11.932 million tonnes. For the next season, farmers have used 1.2 million tonnes of seeds as seeds for sowing. In this way, the total supply in the market will be 10.732 million tonnes.

So far in the various boards across the country, there has been an increase of 8.0 million tonnes of soyabean, out of which 7.8 million tonnes of soybean has been crushed and 0.244 million tonnes have been exported. About 1.10 million tonnes of soyabean has been consumed directly. The rest is kept near the soybean solvent units. This means that farmers still have around 2.491 million tonnes of soybean.

A total of 5.716 million tonnes in Madhya Pradesh, 3.945 million tonnes in Maharashtra, 0.949 million tonnes in Rajasthan, 0.23 million tonnes in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana, 0.254 million tonnes in Karnataka, 0.13 million tonnes in Chhattisgarh, 0.139 million tonnes in Gujarat, In other states, 0.111 million tonnes of soybean is estimated to be produced.

According to SOPA, 6.362 million tonnes of soymeal production has been produced out of total 7.8 million tonnes of crushed crushing till the end of August, out of which 1.734 million tonnes has been exported and about 4.720 million tonnes has been consumed at the domestic level. Nearly 55,000 tonnes of soymeal stock is left with Solvent Plants adding about 48,000 tonnes of stock last year.
