CHICAGO/PARIS. The pressure is on in Russia to sell wheat before the new export tariffs apply. China cannot get enough corn. Meanwhile, the weather spells bad news in Brazil.

Wheat futures down in Paris

Although Chicago futures traded upwards on Friday, Paris futures were down on Monday morning. China has released 2.2 million mt of wheat to satisfy domestic demand bought US corn on Friday, which drove up the market. Rail infrastructure operator Rusagrotrans has revised Russia's grain and wheat export estimates upwards for January. Grain exports have been revised from 3.5 million mt to 3.8 million mt, which also include a revisal on wheat exports from 3 million to 3.4 million mt.
