AYDIN. Due to the already high price level, buyers who are not covered yet for this season want to fill in the gaps quickly. The effect this will have on prices should come as no surprise.

Trade shies from making predictions
The prices for dried figs from Turkey have come a long way since the levels of last year, and an unexpected rise in demand provoked a price escalation. The buyers' attempts to stock up before the prices increase any further have caused the price level to rise even faster. Unlike for apricots and sultanas, dried fruit traders do not dare to make any predictions yet for the fig production.
