BRUSSELS. Argentina has cut the export tariffs for wheat and soybeans. Concerning dry weather conditions prevail for corn. Thanks to the Trump administration Canada’s canola producers are waiting for a double blow.

Argentina lowers export tariff for wheat

International wheat quotations gained after icy weather impacted the US winter crop last week. The lack of rain in the Black Sea region and the elevated risk of late frost damage in Ukraine and Russia have added upward pressure. Traders are also voicing concerns that Trump’s tariff policy will give rise to completely new international dynamics. A 25% tariff will apply for imports from Canada and Mexico as of 1 February, that is if last-minute negotiations fail to prevent this.
