NEW DELHI. As it is by no means clear if and in how far India's government will intervene in the peanut market trading is very much impacted. Demand is also disappointing in China.

Exporters play it safe

As India's government may introduce export restrictions or even suspensions along with higher tariffs exporters are playing it safe by waiting to buy. This is slowing down trading considerably. on top of this, production is expected to rise, especially since Gujarat has announced a 25% increase in the area sown. Ample supplies, in addition, remain and sales are slow.
