Peanuts: concerns about La Niña

NEW DELHI/BUENOS AIRES. In some important Indian growing regions, there are concerns about the quality of this year's crop. In Argentina, sowing for the 2026 crop has been completed, while in Brazil it has been delayed due to weather conditions.

Indian prices receive support

While export prices for Indian peanuts have fallen again, there have been price increases on the local commodity market. One reason for this is that, due to heavy rainfall, almost 85% of the production from Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh is of low to medium quality. As a result, the higher-quality products are in high demand among wholesalers, exporters and sorting factories; they are in short supply this season and demand will be high.
