Peanuts: new growing regions join in

NEW DELHI/BUENOS AIRES. In India, some states have significantly expanded their peanut cultivation and can now get involved in the market. In Argentina, prices appear to have bottomed out and the outlook in Brazil is anything but optimistic.

Various difficulties

Prices on the Indian peanut market have once again risen slightly, however market players expect them to stagnate soon, attributed to an interesting phenomenon. The government is still refraining from mustard seed purchases and as many as 700,000 bags are reaching the markets every day; these large quantities are being offered at low prices which are attracting buyers.
