NEW DELHI. A new regulation regarding aflatoxin controls is delaying Indian peanut shipments to Indonesia. The summer crop will soon be available, but is likely to be smaller than last year.

Delivery plans are being disrupted

The Indian peanut market is under even more pressure after Indonesia introduced stricter aflatoxin testing standards, which have increased export costs and caused delays. One local trader says that prices have already fallen noticeably and unless the situation improves, further price declines seem inevitable.
