Rice Export issue with Europe will be short out soon, Commerce Ministry in talk

The European Commission has reduced residual limit to 0.01 mg per kg in Basmati rice for frictional trace class o1 from next year. Which is likely to affect Indian rice exports. Rice exporters are worried that the tightening of Europe's regulations in the case of pesticides will affect their exports. During a program, Commerce Secretary Rita Tevtia said today that the Commerce Ministry is negotiating with the European Union. Tevtia said that we are trying to convince the EU and also tell them that this pesticide is also used in Europe.

Commerce Secretary Rita Tevtia today said that the Commerce Ministry is also looking at measures to be announced under the Foreign Trade Policy FPP review to boost exports. It is also been said that the review of the policy is now close to reaching the conclusion and the entire work will be completed by September.
