SOFIA. After last week’s scare, it is time to breathe easy because the bargain hunters are about. Is bargain hunting really worth it, or are traders only advertising on their own behalf?

Stable market
There is quiet all around once more, after prices for Eastern European sunflower seed kernels shot skyward last week because of the bad harvest, and other factors. Although farmers have increased prices for their raw sunflower seeds considerably, this has no influence on prices for Eastern European sunflower seed kernels for export.

Traders are advertising
Prices for bakery have settled at a level of 640- 650 EUR/mt. According to traders, now is a good time for purchases. This year’s offer is varied and there are several bargains available. Experts are counting on there being no major price increases for the moment. Although there are also those voices that warn of sudden turnarounds. The bad crop and the international situation on the world market, such as the loss of China and India as exporters, as well as the increase of crude oil prices, are long-term indications of prices more likely tending to climb.
