MALATYA. For the 2017/18 season, Turkish exporters are expecting a strong demand for both fresh and dried apricots.

The prices are lower than they have been in a long time, and still they dropped some more this week. Traders have already implied that they are even willing to bargain if there is interest in prompt deliveries.

Market players expect surpluses of several thousand tons of dried apricots from the current season, and a good crop is also expected in 2017. Depending on how well the sales of fresh apricots go during the summer, the prices for dried apricots could maintain their current level or even drop some more.
