European Union Soybean Consumption Forecast For Season 2017/2018

Experts predict a small increase in soybean consumption in the EU

 In its latest report experts from the International Grains Council (IGC) have estimated the soybean production in the European Union for the 2017/2018 season at 2.5 million MT. This corresponds to the expectations for the harvest in the forthcoming season writes web site kazakh-zerno.kz. According to IGC's latest data the initial stocks of soybean in 2017/2018 are at level of 1 million MT. This season the reserves are estimated at 0.2 million MT less. It should be taken into account that at the beginning of 2015/2016 there were 0.6 million MT of soya beans in the EU's depositories.
According to analysts' current expectations the import of soybean into the EU during the next year will fall in comparison with the current season by 0.1 million MT and will reach 14 million MT. A couple of months earlier the forecast was for reduction by below 0.2 million MT. At the same time the forecast indicates that the export from the EU of soybeans in the forthcoming season will amount to 0.2 million MT. At the present season sales promise to be similar.The consumption of oil crops in the European Union, according to the latest report, will amount to 16.2 million MT. This indicator was 16.3 million MT in season 2015/2016.
The volume of soybeans stocks in the EU at the end of 2017/2018 will probably amount to 1 million MT. In the current year experts estimate final stocks of agricultural crops at a similar level.
